In my opinion, a Thanksgiving plate is not complete without cranberry sauce. Whether it’s from a can or homemade, you can’t have a complete plate without that bright patch of cranberry on there. If you’ve never made it homemade before, this recipe is perfect to start with because its so simple – only four ingredients! Also, there is no refined sugar, just orange and maple syrup for sweetness.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 12oz fresh cranberries
- 1 orange, zest and juice
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp thyme

In a saucepan, add the cranberries, orange juice, orange zest and maple syrup.

Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium and stir periodically until all of the cranberries have “popped” and a sauce if formed.

Remove from heat and mix in the thyme. Transfer to a container and refrigerate until chilled. Keep refrigerated and use for up to 7 days.
